Alfred Hitchcock (1899-1980) was an English film director and producer. He is considered one of the most influential filmmakers in history. Hitchcock directed 53 feature films, including Psycho and Vertigo. He was primarily known for his horror films and development of the horror genre. He directed movies during the golden age of film and relocated to America during the golden age of Hollywood. In late 1979, Hitchcock was knighted- giving him the title Sir Alfred Hitchcock.
